How does a drywall patch get done?
The damaged area is opened up to find the full extent of the damage, then cut square to solid edges. A new piece of drywall goes in on backing so it sits flush, the seams are taped, and joint compound is built up in thin coats that get wider each time. Once it is dry it is sanded until you cannot feel the edge, then primed so paint goes on evenly.

Yes. We match common finishes like smooth, orange peel and knockdown so the patch blends in once it is painted.

Does water damaged drywall have to be replaced?
Drywall that is soft, swollen or crumbling has to be cut out and replaced once the leak is fixed and the area is dry. A light stain on firm drywall can often be sealed and painted instead.
Can you patch a ceiling without redoing the whole room?
Usually, yes. The damage is cut back to sound drywall, patched, and finished to match the ceiling around it, so only the damaged area is redone.
Will the patch show after I paint?
A patch that is feathered wide, sanded flat and primed takes paint the same way as the wall around it. Older paint can fade, so painting the whole wall gives the most even result.
